Descriptions of Specific Volunteer Opportunities
Friday, August 23, 2019 – 9:00am to 4:00pm
Volunteers for this shift should be hard working and not mind a lot of physical labor to help with all aspects of course set-up. Responsibilities include unloading equipment, driving posts, setting-up transition, positioning crowd control barricades, placing course signage and much more. This is a great opportunity to help the event and get a good workout!

Early AM Set-up & Race Day Help
These volunteers are the super heroes of race weekend, and they must like to get up early. You start by helping with body marking and with getting kids set-up in transition. Then (around 7:30am) you shift to an area of race responsibility. This could include the run course, bike course, pool area, transition area, staging area, event expo, etc.
Sunday, August 25, 2019 – 6:30am to 12:00pm
Race Day Help
For those of you who like to sleep-in (at least a little), join us at 7:00am and be assigned to one of our race day teams. This could include the run course, bike course, pool area, transition area, staging area, event expo, etc.
Sunday, August 25, 2019 – 11:00pm to 3:00pm
Race Day Clean-Up Crew
The late volunteer shift on Sunday is responsible for returning the WGAC back to the exact same shape we found it in. Expect a lot of manual labor and heavy lifting as you will be helping with event clean-up and break down. Specific responsibilities include cutting zip ties, collecting trash, rolling soft fencing, moving crowd control barricades, pulling posts, and loading the equipment back onto our truck.
By volunteering you will be playing a very important role in helping us build a generation of healthy, active and responsible kids. In exchange, you will receive a huge sense of accomplishment, a t-shirt and a cool lunch bag.
